Our office visited St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic School in Delray Beach this week and St. Joseph’s Episcopal School in Boynton Beach last week. We had a fun time administering vision and eye health screenings on the students. The children were well mannered and very sweet! We thank the parent and teacher volunteers who helped with the screening.
We thank the schools for the opportunity to detect eye problems that may be affecting their students’ performance with reading, sports or daily activities. Did you know that 1 out of 4 children have an undetected vision disorder?
Seeing is our main source for gathering information in learning, and this is why vision issues can have profound consequences on how we learn. Many kids who experience trouble with academics may have a visual dysfunction in addition to their primary learning dysfunction.
Here at Ocean Optics and the Vision Therapy Institute of Florida, we feel vision is so important for learning and would enjoy offering free vision screenings for your child’s school, daycare, or early development center. Please contact Lori at 561-265-2020 to setup the vision and eye health screening in your community.
